The Canon PC850 personal copier, introduced in May of 1994, was then Canon's top-of-the-line personal copier, with features more commonly found on the high-end copiers then sold through dealers. Some of those features were the front loading 250 sheet paper cassette, 50-sheet bypass tray and ability to enlarge and reduce from 49% to 204%.
The copier also featured Canon's RAPID Fusing System which delivered copies instantly with no warm-up time (16 pages per minute [ppm] for letter-size and 11 ppm for tabloid-size).
The PC850 copier was targeted at small businesses and home/office environments, concentrating on the convenience and productivity of enhanced features at an affordable price. .
The cartridge, which is similar to previous Canon PC copier imaging systems and is relatively easy to remanufacture, and has an OEM-yield rating of 10,000 pages.
